Brian Calandra, DPT, PT

Director, Human Performance

Dr. Brian Calandra served with the 10th Special Forces Group in Fort Carson, CO. where he held roles as both the Officer in charge of Human Performance and Wellness and the Director of Sports Medicine.    He retired from the Army in 2024 at the rank of Major.

Brian received his undergraduate and Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Northeastern University of Boston Massachusetts.  He commissioned into the Army through Northeastern’s Army ROTC program.    

While serving as a physical therapist, Brian has had the opportunity to provide physical therapy clinical and performance optimization services in 11 different countries (USA, Japan, South Korea, Egypt, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Georgia, Albania, and Moldova). Throughout his career, Brian served in various Army units and was involved in multiple deployments supporting international peace treaties, Special Operations, and rotationally deployed Brigade Combat Teams. While in a deployed setting, he has also worked as Adjunct Faculty with the University of Maryland’s Global campus, teaching Foundations of Research, Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology.
