SHUBHAM GARG
VP, Special Projects
Shubham Garg is an Astronautical Engineer specializing in interplanetary space navigation. He has worked as a consultant to the UAE Space Agency, supporting the Agency in restructuring and redefining roles within the organization for maximum efficiency and best use of personnel. He created outlines for job roles and responsibilities, performance standards, competency matrix, and dictionary and internal growth pathways. Shubham has modeled autonomous spacecraft navigation strategies, launched high altitude balloons, worked on data optimization, predictive analysis, and machine learning.
Shubham led a team to create India’s first private high altitude balloon mission by students to capture micrometeorites from the upper atmosphere. He is also a solar eclipse chaser and has observed six solar eclipses from various parts of the world. The most notable was organizing India’s first solar eclipse observation cruise in 2008 to view the eclipse from the Indian Ocean. The observation cruise made India one of the few countries to have set up observation decks for a solar eclipse on land, air, and sea simultaneously.
Shubham has a Master of Science in Astronautical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology.
